Dear friends ,
If you are a music lover and you just want to buy Nokia 5230 , just don't buy it.
Reason: It just outputs a feeble sound that can be heard only if the room is silent.
What Nokia customer care says :The lower sound output of the mobile phone is due to the impact on the sound decibel with the latest software upgrade is as per the European standards.
Headphones and earphones when associated with portable sound systems or headphones and earphones intended for use with portable sound systems shall not deliver more than 100 dB for maximum Sound Pressure Level. The drop in the decibel level in the headphone sound output with the latest software upgrade of the device is a feature of the software / firmware and the above is as per the European standards.
Conclusion : Well I dont know whether the output is 100 dB or not for I dont have a decibel meter. And for the matter of fact I dont live in Europe. I hope Nokia will be more realistic when they advertise mobiles as music box (Huh!). Rest of the features of the mobile is a beauty (no complaints) except I did not get the free car accessory which was supposed to be free with this model. I am still fighting for it...
